EUROPEAN SUSTAINABLE ENERGY WEEK (#EUSEW2023) AWARD CEREMONY IN MOLDOVA!The most active participants of the European Sustainable Energy Week
(#EUSEW2023) in Moldova received certificates of appreciation from the European Union Programme Manager in the Republic of Moldova, Ioannou Solomon, Irina Plis, National Expert of the Covenant of Mayors in Moldova and Ion Muntean, Director of the Energy Efficiency Agency.
In 17 localities, about 7000 citizens of all ages learned about the importance of sustainable energy, were guided to adopt energy saving habits during EUSEW and Energy Days from 15 June to 15 July.
More than 45 events were organised in the Covenant signatories' localities with a wide range of activities:
- Thematic discussions on renewable energy and energy efficiency,
- exhibitions of children's drawings on energy-related topics, - film screenings on environmental protection and climate issues, and
- sports activities such as football matches and bike marathons.
Themed excursions and flash mobs were also organised to engage the community.
The CoM-East project team in Moldova also organised a competition of local best practices in the field of climate and sustainable energy that had a significant impact on the lives of citizens. Short videos were made of five best practices and premiered during the event yesterday, 12 September 2023.
