ENERGY EXCELLENCE GRANT PROGRAM
FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM BUSINESSES
The Energy Excellence for Small- to Medium-Enterprises (SMEs) Grant Program helps small and medium businesses save energy and cut costs by investing in certified, high-efficient equipment. The Moldova Energy Security Activity (MESA), funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with the British Embassy, is offering financial assistance of up to $30,000 (approx. 522,000 MDL) for energy efficiency upgrades.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR ENERGY EXCELLENCE GRANT PROGRAM FUNDING?
The grant program is open to registered SMEs with annual sales revenue up to 100 million MDL and an average annual number of employees up to 250. SMEs in commercial, industrial, and agricultural sectors interested in improving energy efficiency related to the production of goods are welcome to apply.
HOW CAN MY BUSINESS USE THE MONEY?
Grant funding is for energy-efficient equipment costs only. Installation costs are not covered. The funding available for equipment will be calculated as 50% of the total project cost (including design and installation, excluding VAT), up to a maximum of $30,000 (~522,000 MDL).
WHAT EQUIPMENT IS ELIGIBLE?
Eligible equipment includes, but is not limited to:
• Heat pumps
• High efficiency condensing natural gas boilers
• Energy-efficient technological equipment
• Small-scale co-generation and tri-generation units
• Solar water heaters
• Motors with frequency drives
• Air handling units with heat recovery
• Equipment and technology

HOW CAN I APPLY?
The application process is as follows:
- Read the Request for Application ENG, RO, RUS in its entirety to determine your eligibility and familiarize yourself with the application and evaluation process.
- If eligible, Submit grant concept form ENG, RO, RUS to EEgrant@aeer.md.
- If grant concept is selected, submit full application formby Friday, March 29, 2024. The full application form consists of the following:

- Life Cycle Cost Analysis User Guide ENG, RO, RUS and (Excel) ENG, RO, RUS
- Representation and Certifications ENG, RO, RUS
