Alliance for Energy Efficiency and Renewables

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT THANKS TO THE PROJECT ENERGY MANAGEMENT AND INNOVATIVE USE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES!

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT THANKS TO THE PROJECT ENERGY MANAGEMENT AND INNOVATIVE USE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES!

We have just entered the cold season, and electricity bills remain the main problem for local managers.
What's new this season is that 5 localities in the country have studied the concept of energy management, and 4 of them can already apply the knowledge gained in practice. Recently, in the villages of Sireți, Lozova, Budești and Vorniceni, photovoltaic systems have been installed on the roofs of public buildings with priority, taking into account their social importance, but which are energy inefficient.

At present, the town halls, which are part of the project, receive quarterly reports on the consumption of energy resources of the objects that have been included in the energy management programme.

These activities have been made possible thanks to the Energy Management and Innovative Use of RES project.
All the signatory municipalities of the CoM EAST have demonstrated their openness and willingness to find and implement solutions that would minimise energy consumption in those institutions that ensure the proper functioning of the localities.

Therefore, each locality has benefited from a photovoltaic plant with a capacity of up to 5 kW, a solar collector with 50 evacuated tubes, a boiler with a capacity of 500 l, equipped with heating element, temperature sensors and microprocessor.
These installations have benefited:

Kindergarten No.1 in the village of Sireti, Straseni district.
Kindergarten "Viorel and Viorica" from Bubuieci commune
Fire station in Lozova commune, Straseni rayon
Kindergarten No. 2 in the village of Vorniceni, Straseni rayon
Soon will begin the installation of wind turbines, type LOTUS L-27.
With the help of project experts these institutions have been included in the list of priority buildings for energy efficiency due to higher energy consumption. Managers of public institutions as well as members of municipalities already have the opportunity to analyse the monitoring data received by comparison and can make decisions on optimising energy efficiency in buildings with particularly high energy consumption.

These activities were made possible thanks to the Energy Management and Innovative Use of RES project, supported and implemented by AEER in collaboration with Green City Lab Moldova and funded by the GEF - UNDP Small Grants Programme.
This project also aimed to provide socio-economic benefits and improve living standards in rural and urban areas.
