THE BEST INVESTMENT - THE SUN'S ENERGY FOR THE "HOUSE OF GENERATIONS" IN TELIȚA VILLAGE!

THE BEST INVESTMENT - THE SUN'S ENERGY FOR THE "HOUSE OF GENERATIONS" IN TELIȚA VILLAGE!

#GIZMoldova: The best investment - the sun's energy for the "House of generations" in the village of Telita!
About 70 percent of electricity expenses will be saved at the multifunctional social center for children at risk "House of Generations" in the village of Telița, Anenii Noi district. This is possible after photovoltaic panels have been installed on the newly repaired roof.

Rodica Russu, the mayor of the village, says that previously, in winter, the centre used to spend around 10 thousand lei a month on electricity. Air conditioners and converters operate in the rooms, which means more electricity is consumed.

After the investment, to which the Government, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the town hall and the diaspora natives contributed, the funds saved will be used to improve the teaching process for the 40 children, aged 7 to 13, who have extracurricular activities at the Multipurpose Social Centre. At the same time, they will be able to learn and experience first-hand about green energy and energy education, which plays a key role in the future of our planet.

Larisa Frunză is the mother of a little girl who is already in her third year at the Telița institution. She appreciates the transition to green electricity.

"There are various activities here that involve more electricity consumption - there is a room where the children study computers, there are electric cookers where the girls learn to cook. It's good that we now have green energy," says Larisa Frunză.
"The electricity we consume will be much cheaper or even free, since it will be generated by photovoltaic panels. Such panels have already been installed at the school and kindergarten in the village, now the electricity costs are much lower there", says Viorica Ipati, the centre's director.
The village of Telița is a beneficiary of the DAR 1+3 programme, implemented with the financial support of the German government. The activity took place in the framework of the project "Energy Resilient Communities for Moldova with the support of diaspora and native associations", implemented by AEER in partnership with the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy in Moldova.

It is carried out in the framework of the project "Policy Advisory Fund", funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ Moldova.
